  • Tony Santini - Owner

Growing up Tony’s creativity was strong in the world of music and art, but it wasn’t until he enrolled in cosmetology school at 19 that his true art form was realized. It is safe to say that entering the world of hairdressing was just taking a chance for Tony, but once the hair was in his hands there was no looking back.

For 18+ years Tony has been a hairstylist behind the chair with a dedicated clientele spanning many age groups and locations. He also has taken part in session styling for modeling portfolio’s, has done hair at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC, has worked with the UW Madison Opera with hair design, and has been involved in creating multiple hair designs for Hair Affair, The Art of Hair held at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.

After the first nine years of hairdressing Tony created Hybrid Salon. An education based salon not only for the staff but for each guest as well. He has played a major role in considerably increasing the skill level, creativity, sales of services/retail, and the knowledge of professional business within his staff members. Rapport building through education is helping Hybrid Salon successfully grow. This success and growth was noted when Tony became a nominated member of Who’s Who in Madison, WI (a group of professionals who are recognized as leaders in their area of business).

In addition to working in the salon, Tony educated for Redken as a National Performing Artist for 8 years. During his time with Redken Tony has had the opportunity to work with world renowned artists and business people in the Salon Professional Industry. He has had extensive training and trained other salon professionals in the world of hair color, design and finishing. He has also had specific training in salon business, branding and marketing.

A few years ago Tony acquired an existing booth rental salon (Tanglz Salon) in Appleton, Wi. Tanglz Salon has a front desk staff of 4 and 24 rental areas. During the first year of ownership Tony managed to implement a new salon software system (no computer was used at Tanglz Salon previously) and a full retail area. This change was a huge endeavor as he had to bring all the renters and front desk staff to a newfound way of looking at their business. Tony spends two days a month at Tanglz and supports the staff remotely.

As a former Redken Educator Tony has a great understanding of the dedication needed to be a successful salon professional and strives to instill this thought process in his current employees and students. Although being in the salon is a great pleasure for Tony, it is time for him to bring that dedication to a broader group at the beginning of their careers. Creating the proper foundation and realistic expectations is where the set up for success starts. This is why The Salon Professional Academy has become part of Tony’s journey.

Most recently Tony has been noted as a leader in the beauty industry on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX media stations. He has also been a guest on The Sweet Process business system’s podcast, featured in a life career story on the Examiner.com and contributed to the article “9 Successful Interview Tips” included in Rasmussen College’s student life blog.

    Clint Genett - Director

Clint entered the Salon Industry with gusto in 2003 as a salon manager in Hollywood CA. In 2005 he joined The Salon Professional Academy family as the Director of Admissions in Appleton WI. For 5 years he absorbed the progressive leadership teachings of Redken, TSPA and the Summit Salon Business College to build his industry offerings. Clint included the practice of Salon Consulting and Self-betterment Coaching while remaining committed to TSPA and the students of.

A move to Chicago in 2010 expanded his learning and his practice to include a Regional Manager position with Aveda Concept Salons and soon following he became the Assistant Institute Director of the Aveda Institute Chicago.

Clint was thrilled to hear that TSPA was opening a territory near to him. He jumped at the opportunity to reunite with what he considers “the most progressive and inspiring learning and coaching systems this industry has to offer”. In fall of 2015, Clint relocated to Madison WI to aid the opening of TSPA Madison as the Director of Operations.

His noticeable energy and passion for the industry is sourced by the growth and success of the student.

Over a decade ago, The Salon Professional Academy joined forces with Redken 5th Avenue NYC to develop a salon and cosmetology franchise that has changed the industry.  Redken and TSPA collaborated to redesign what a “beauty school” was from the ground up – revisiting everything from the way things were taught to how the student salon area looked and functioned.  The result was a ultra-modern training facility providing students with skills beyond what they do behind the chair; skills that prepare them for a professional, successful career.

Recognized By Redken For Excellence In Education.

With a commitment to industry-leading education, business skills that prepare students for more than passing state boards, and a desire to see our students surpass all expectations for this profession, Redken has provided The Salon Professional Academy franchise locations the exclusive designation of “Recognized by Redken for Excellence in Education.”

    • “Being that the TSPA academy is a Redken recognized academy, I believe that the principles that make Redken a huge success in education are easy to recognize when you’re experiencing the academy. I'm excited to see what we will witness in our profession in the near future because I know that the principles I've learned have changed my career and life. Now, seeing our youth start with these skills is very exciting to see unfold. The quality that a TSPA academy creates is a salon professional that is more technically skilled and is more career-focused, over all a better professional ready out of school.”

    • “I have been working with the educators at TSPA for many years. The difference is in the educators. They say… ‘the bigger the party, the more people show up.’ TSPA schools attract passionate, committed professionals who love teaching others what they've learned. You can feel their commitment in everything they do and that translates to the TSPA graduate in more confidence, better skill retention, and at the end of the day - more earning power.”

    • “Beauty schools are a great way for students to learn practical cosmetology skills while simultaneously preparing themselves for a rewarding career path and there is only one that I recommend and that is The Salon Professional Academy. In today’s world of cosmetology schools there is no better school that trains a student for the salon community then TSPA. TSPA schools teach technical skills, as well as solid business skills to support any salon, as the school atmosphere is professional and conducive to the achievement of excellence by student and faculty alike based on learner-focused education. The educators at TSPA find the knowledge and guidance to prepare a cosmetology student for a long successful future in the cosmetology field. • The decision on choosing the correct academy to fast track your hairdressing career can be ominous. I think that means hard! LOL. Seriously, as the Artistic Director for Redken, President of Fuel Education and hairdresser for 47 years, I’ve traveled the world, taught and performed in 27 different countries. There is one common thing in the hairdressing industry… your “Learning to Earning” ratio. Simply put, the more you learn and the higher the quality of your learning – the more you earn.
TSPA is affiliated with education-centric companies like Redken and Fuel Education Systems that train and help to produce the finest TSPA educators with the highest standards of education in the industry – bar none. How does that affect you? The best educators produce the best students. Salon owners want graduates who are salon-area ready with minimal post-academy training.

TSPA understands your need to be grounded in the Principles of Design, Finish and Color upon entering your first salon. They help ground you in those principles and ready you for that position behind the chair; and TSPA has one of the highest rates of job placement …and after all that is the point, isn’t it

Chris BaranEducation Artistic Director - Redken
    • As an educator for Redken (and as a working hairdresser), I have trained and worked with thousands of hairdressers in salons and schools all over the nation. No matter where I am, I can always tell a "TSPA" graduate because they are consistently one step ahead of their peers - in skills, professionalism, and customer service.
