Tony Santini - Owner
Growing up Tony’s creativity was strong in the world of music and art, but it wasn’t until he enrolled in cosmetology school at 19 that his true art form was realized. It is safe to say that entering the world of hairdressing was just taking a chance for Tony, but once the hair was in his hands there was no looking back.
For 18+ years Tony has been a hairstylist behind the chair with a dedicated clientele spanning many age groups and locations. He also has taken part in session styling for modeling portfolio’s, has done hair at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC, has worked with the UW Madison Opera with hair design, and has been involved in creating multiple hair designs for Hair Affair, The Art of Hair held at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.
After the first nine years of hairdressing Tony created Hybrid Salon. An education based salon not only for the staff but for each guest as well. He has played a major role in considerably increasing the skill level, creativity, sales of services/retail, and the knowledge of professional business within his staff members. Rapport building through education is helping Hybrid Salon successfully grow. This success and growth was noted when Tony became a nominated member of Who’s Who in Madison, WI (a group of professionals who are recognized as leaders in their area of business).
In addition to working in the salon, Tony educated for Redken as a National Performing Artist for 8 years. During his time with Redken Tony has had the opportunity to work with world renowned artists and business people in the Salon Professional Industry. He has had extensive training and trained other salon professionals in the world of hair color, design and finishing. He has also had specific training in salon business, branding and marketing.
A few years ago Tony acquired an existing booth rental salon (Tanglz Salon) in Appleton, Wi. Tanglz Salon has a front desk staff of 4 and 24 rental areas. During the first year of ownership Tony managed to implement a new salon software system (no computer was used at Tanglz Salon previously) and a full retail area. This change was a huge endeavor as he had to bring all the renters and front desk staff to a newfound way of looking at their business. Tony spends two days a month at Tanglz and supports the staff remotely.
As a former Redken Educator Tony has a great understanding of the dedication needed to be a successful salon professional and strives to instill this thought process in his current employees and students. Although being in the salon is a great pleasure for Tony, it is time for him to bring that dedication to a broader group at the beginning of their careers. Creating the proper foundation and realistic expectations is where the set up for success starts. This is why The Salon Professional Academy has become part of Tony’s journey.
Most recently Tony has been noted as a leader in the beauty industry on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX media stations. He has also been a guest on The Sweet Process business system’s podcast, featured in a life career story on the Examiner.com and contributed to the article “9 Successful Interview Tips” included in Rasmussen College’s student life blog.

Over a decade ago, The Salon Professional Academy joined forces with Redken 5th Avenue NYC to develop a salon and cosmetology franchise that has changed the industry. Redken and TSPA collaborated to redesign what a “beauty school” was from the ground up – revisiting everything from the way things were taught to how the student salon area looked and functioned. The result was a ultra-modern training facility providing students with skills beyond what they do behind the chair; skills that prepare them for a professional, successful career.
This exclusive award is earned for the commitment to, and delivery of, Redken’s advanced education protocols and standards. This recognition can only be earned by successfully completing a rigorous examination of the Academy’s facility, systems, curriculum, and staff.
With a commitment to industry-leading education, business skills that prepare students for more than passing state boards, and a desire to see our students surpass all expectations for this profession, Redken has provided The Salon Professional Academy franchise locations the exclusive designation of “Recognized by Redken for Excellence in Education.”
